What am I doing?

In September 2012 my little cousin Becca and I rode the 40 mile London to Windsor cycle ride. This was the peak of my 2012 efforts, the furthest I’d ever ridden. This year, I’ll need to do 100 miles.

In an effort to raise as much money as possible, I’m going to tackle the following:

  • On 3rd March I started started with the Harp Hilly Hundred, a 55km early season training ride which, according to the website, is “recognised as one of the harder reliability rides in the area, because of the unrelenting terrain through the Chilterns”. Here's how I got on.

  • On Sunday 5th of May, Spring Bank Holiday weekend, my cousin Becca Robinson and her partner Chris Fury and I rode the Oakman Shires Sportive. Starting in Berkhamsted, it was a 70km ride up and down the Chilterns, linking together three Oakman pubs. A really great morning, here's how we did.

  • This whole challenge has been building up to riding the inaugural RideLondon-Surrey 100. On closed roads, the route followed a course similar to that of the Olympic road race, starting at the Olympic Park and finishing on The Mall, with a trip out to the Surrey Hills in the middle. 100 miles, with a nine hour cut off before the pro's are came through. And we did it, on a simply amazing day. My blog all about it is here.
